Robots and artificial intelligence will take 5 million jobs from people

The study, published at the beginning of the World Economic Forum in Davos, says that in the next five years the active introduction of robotics and artificial intelligence will lead to a reduction of 5 million “live” jobs in 15 advanced economies. Women will feel the greatest change, since the reduction will primarily affect the sphere of trade, office workers and administrators.

Transformation and subsequent reduction of the labor market will result in the creation of one reduced “male” workplace with three reduced ones, and for women this ratio will already look like 1: 5.

Two-thirds of the projected losses will have to be in the office and administrative sectors, where most of the routine work will be done by machines equipped with artificial intelligence. A certain but much smaller loss will be incurred by the healthcare sector in connection with the introduction of telemedicine technologies, as well as energy and the financial sector.
